Edited by Harry Hahne This section of Chorus focuses on software used for computer-assisted biblical research. It contains reviews of sophisticated Bible-analysis software, and discusses the accurate use of Bible software. Computers can greatly enhance the study of the biblical texts. With the right software one can quickly locate words and phrases, compare translations, and perform thematic studies. Many programs instantly parse and define words in Greek and Hebrew. More advanced programs enable grammatical, stylistic and linguistic research that would be difficult and time consuming to do manually. The focus here is on scholarly research with the original-language texts of the Jewish/Christian Scriptures. Programs based primarily on English translations are not treated, although all of the programs discussed here can be used to study the English Bible. This section also includes reviews of Greek and Hebrew fonts for Microsoft Windows. These fonts enable many Windows programs, such as word processors, to include passages of the Bible in the original language and allow rudimentary multilingual word processing. Contributors to this and other Chorus sections are always wanted. Please see our Contributors Guidelines.
